Dutch tour Hattie Briggs

This autumn Hattie Briggs will visit The Netherlands to do some concerts. Despite her young age, the British singer is deeply rooted in the old folk tradition. Recently she released Red & Gold a title that refers to the Autumn Leaves of this season. This album reached number 1 on the Digital Folk Chart. Briggs received favourable reviews: ‘If you appreciate well written music, sung beautifully and played exquisitely then this will definitely be something for you,’ and ‘her incredible melancholic voice and range sits on the cello like an extra string,’ British music critics wrote.

Her latest single ‘Tilly’s Song’, written for her best friend, showcases the playful side of her song writing. The summery, up-tempo arrangement is powered by catchy banjo and lead guitar parts, but it is the layer of sweet vocal harmonies that make this song so joyful and uplifting.

With a relentless creative fire inside and inspired by the likes of James Taylor and Eva Cassidy, Hattie recorded her album at Monnow Valley Studios, produced by Peter Waterman (Joss Stone) and Eva’s brother Dan Cassidy. Briggs performs ‘Fields of Gold’ using Eva Cassidy’s arrangement. Dan Cassidy played the violin on the song.
